Lockwood Residence Renovation/Addition - Boxford, MA

Working with a repeat client, BEAUCHER & LEA is redefining a vintage 1980s developer home for a family of four. Most existing spaces will be gutted to accommodate the addition of a new gourmet kitchen, new master suite and luxury bathroom, a formalized entry with sculptural stair, a new glass conservatory as well as the construction of a multi-car garage with living spaces above. The existing unfinished basement will be completely reconfigured to accommodate a new home theater, game room, gym, wine cellar and support spaces.



Arlington Residence Renovation/Addition - Arlington, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA architecture is collaborating with homeowners of an early 20th century residence in Arlington to replace and expand the existing kitchen, add a new mud area, and improve the efficiencies of existing storage spaces throughout the house.



Fisher Hill Renovation - Brookline, MA

Fisher Hill is a prestigious community of condominium residences built during the 1980s. BEAUCHER & LEA architecture will provide designs to renovate an existing developer kitchen. The project also involves rethinking the currently static connections between the kitchen, dining, living and media areas.



North End Kitchen - Boston, MA

Working in Boston's historic and densely populated North End, BEAUCHER & LEA will be working with a condominium owner to replace an existing inefficient entry/kitchen/dining area with improved aesthetics and functionality. The project involves opening walls and adding multiple layers of new stoarge to allow for improved movement of people, light and air through the currently compacted spaces.



Oak Square Residence Renovation - Brighton, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA architecture is working to expand the existing living spaces of a residence for two musicians and their family. The core of the project is an entirely new master suite, his and her offices, children's play areas, deck and storage areas all on an expanded attic level.



Revival of a Greek Revival - Cambridge, MA

A new homeowner has commissioned BEAUCHER & LEA architecture to modernize the interior and restore the exterior of a late 19th century Greek Revival cottage in Central Square, Cambridge. The project involves the reconfiguration of the interior to incorporate a new master suite, bathrooms and renovated kitchen while restoring the exterior to its period grandeur using historic details.





Mid-Cambridge Garden - Cambridge, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA architecture has been retained to provide designs to transform a compact backyard into an intimate family retreat. Designs include elegant stone walls, wood enclosures and paving patterns that will articulate a myriad of functions in a small area. Function include raised planting beds with southern exposure, flat areas for dining and a kiddie pool, as well as covered enclosures for bicycles and trash receptacles. Alterations will be made to the rear of the house including the addition of a new mud room with fully glazed doors and new windows to create visual and direct connections between the home and new garden. The clients are repeat collaborators with BEAUCHER & LEA architecture, having retained the firm to previously design the total renovation of their home.



Button Factory Condominium Renovation/Addition - Roxbury, MA

Progressive clients have retained BEAUCHER & LEA architecture to orchestrate the expansion of their unique condominium in a former button factory. This project includes technical structural and complex zoning and code analysis of the century old concrete and steel building. The new design adds a new master suite, expands the kitchen/dining areas and replaces the existing roof deck. The clients have specifically engaged BEAUCHER & LEA architecture to foster their desire to use alternative and sustainable materials.

South End Garden Condominium Renovation - Boston, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA architecture is working with a professional couple to improve the utility and aesthetics of their recently purchased garden duplex condominium in a classic brick bow front building in Boston's South End neighborhood. The project includes reconfiguring the existing master suite from a former "old world bachelor pad" to a functional suite for a modern married couple. Other interior work includes a new office and entry/mud area. Custom built-ins featuring reclaimed vintage lumber are being explored. Exterior work includes the design of a new deck and stair to allow access from rear parking spaces to the second floor.




East Arlington Residence Renovations - Arlington, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA is working with a homeowner to provide exterior designs that will restore a currently aluminum sided building to its former early 20th century exterior aesthetics while utilizing modern low-maintenance materials such as Hardi-plank and Hardi-shingle.



Jones Hill Residence Renovations - Dorchester, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA is providing designs and construction administration for the total re-cladding and re-roofing of an historic mansion in the Jones Hill section of Dorchester. The project includes reconstruction of three stories of stacked decks and replacement exterior stairways linking the ground and all three stories of the residence as well as minor interior work. BEAUCHER & LEA was recently retained to provide complete landscaping designs for the property.

South End Rear Deck - Boston, MA

A condominium owner has engaged BEAUCHER & LEA architecture to design and coordinate the fabrication of a custom steel deck to be installed off the third story of an historic brick townhouse. BEAUCHER & LEA is guiding the project through the complex neighborhood, city permitting and zoning appeals process required to permit the project.

Karl's Sausage Kitchen - Saugus, MA

Working with repeat clients, BEAUCHER & LEA architecture updated of the image of Karl's Sausage Kitchen, a fixture for over 50 years on the famed route 1 strip in Saugus, MA. BEAUCHER & LEA worked with the new owners of the business to evolve the identity of the business through the design of new logos, new signage, a new entry canopy, new lighting in the public spaces as well as refinement of the employee and family break areas.

Kosher Kitchen Renovation & Addition - Newton Centre, MA

BEAUCHER & LEA is provided custom designs for the renovation of an existing 60 year old home including new gourmet kosher kitchen, new half bathroom with custom vessel sink as well as additions to the existing house to accommodate new spaces. BEAUCHER & LEA worked closely with the homeowners to accommodate culturally specific rituals such as hand washing in a ceremonial sink, multiple dishwashers for separate washing of food specific dishware as well as lighting control systems for religious holidays.



North Cambridge Condominiums - Cambridge, MA

Working with the owner/developer, BEAUCHER & LEA provided designs for the gut-renovation and conversion to condominiums of an existing century-old duplex residence. BEAUCHER & LEA also provided architectural condominium plans for the developer's use in converting the property into condominiums.
